USA .. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, warned during an open session of the UN Security Council of the dangers of artificial intelligence to global security, as he stressed that electronic attacks supported by artificial intelligence disrupt the United Nations infrastructure and stability, according to what was published by the United Nations website.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed concern about the interaction between artificial intelligence, nuclear weapons, technology and robotics.

Guterres supported the establishment of a United Nations body to manage artificial intelligence technology, similar to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

But he also mentioned the benefits of artificial intelligence, saying that artificial intelligence provides new capabilities to promote human rights, especially in the fields of education and health, noting its contribution to monitoring acts of violence, monitoring ceasefires, and strengthening peacekeeping, mediation and humanitarian efforts.

Britain assumes the rotating presidency of the UN Security Council this month, and seeks a global leadership role with regard to regulating the use of artificial intelligence. The Kingdom previously announced that it will host a summit related to this matter next fall.

Governments around the world are looking to address the risks of emerging artificial intelligence technology, which could reshape the global economy and change the international security landscape.

In a statement published in May, a group of business leaders and experts, including the creator of ChatGBT, Sam Altman, warned that the rise of artificial intelligence risks the “extinction” of humanity.
